The Denton Elks Lodge #2446 has stood on East Oak Street as a gathering place for people who believe that looking out for your neighbors is not optional. The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks was founded in 1868, and every lodge in the country carries that same charge: do something real for the people around you. Scholarship programs, youth initiatives, veterans support, and community grants are not afterthoughts here. They are the reason the doors open every week.

Members and their families consistently describe the lodge as a place where you are treated with genuine respect from the moment you walk in. That tone is not accidental. The fraternal culture of the Elks is built on mutual care, and that extends outward into Denton, TX and the surrounding community. Long-tenured families pass membership down through generations because the relationships formed here hold up over time.

With a 4.2-star rating from local reviewers and decades of active presence in Denton, Lodge #2446 is a working organization, not a relic. Events, fundraisers, and volunteer efforts run throughout the year, giving members meaningful ways to contribute and connect beyond the meeting room.

What We Offer

Lodge #2446 offers members a full calendar of activities rooted in the Elks' national mission. Charitable giving is central: the lodge supports local scholarships for Denton-area students, funds community programs, and participates in the Elks National Foundation's grant initiatives that direct millions of dollars annually to veterans, children, and civic causes.

Beyond philanthropy, the lodge provides a social home for members and their families. Regular dinners, holiday events, and lodge-sponsored gatherings create a consistent rhythm of community. The veterans programs are a particular point of pride, honoring service members through recognition events and direct assistance.

Membership in the Elks also connects Denton residents to a national network of over 800,000 members across nearly 2,000 lodges. Whether you are new to the area or a lifelong Denton resident, the lodge offers a structured way to give back, build friendships, and participate in something larger than any single neighborhood.

"What a joke of an organization to call yourselves "charitable" then tow people while a huge celebratory community event is going on. Shame on you and your organization."

"What a HATEFUL EVIL organization. We had sick children and we accidentally parked in their place and they had us towed and told us to walk over 6 miles to get our vehicle. They then just laughed at our face and our children's face at the situation claiming that they have to deal with so much hardship. I asked them if they got kickbacks from the towing company and they admitted that they did. Do not donate to an organization that hates children as they do ."

"Do not associate with these awful people in any way. Wife (admittedly) made the mistake of parking there and got towed. I called to talk to someone about it and the guy laughed and called my wife retarded. Shining examples of community leaders right here."
— Aaron Manuel

A Proud Heritage

The Elks gave America
Flag Day.

Long before it was a national observance, the Order set aside June 14th to honor the flag. Patriotism has always been one of our cardinal principles, and every lodge meeting still closes the same way it has for over a century.
